Holy Week

March 29th is Palm Sunday, the celebration of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. This service will begin on the south lawn at 10:00 AM, weather permitting. If the weather is inclement, we will begin in the undercroft (church basement).

Holy Week services follow on Thursday, Friday (2), Saturday and Sunday.

The 6:30 PM Maundy Thursday Liturgy begins with a Passover meal and continues in the sanctuary. To participate in the meal you must have signed up in advance.

On Good Friday, there are two services. At 5:30 PM is the last of the Lenten Stations of the Cross services. This short but meaningful service has been celebrated weekly throughout Lent. Immediately following Stations of the Cross will be the Good Friday Liturgy at 6:00 PM.

Saturday evening begins our celebration of the Resurrection with The Great Vigil service at 8:00 PM. The Great Vigil is the most important service in our church year. Participants are invited to bring a bell to ring in celebration each time the word "Hallelujah" is said during the service. Extra bells are available.

Easter Sunday service begins at 10:00 AM with decoration of The Flowering Cross. Please bring a flower(s) from your garden. Extra flowers are available to those without gardens. The Flowering Cross will be displayed in front of the church after the service to remind everyone of our risen Lord. A children's Easter egg hunt will immediately follow the church service.

St. John's is an inclusive church and all are invited to participate regardless of who you are or where you are on your spiritual journey.

Bells and flowers help us celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
